When Arctic Storm Management Group set out to build the Arctic Trawler — a state-of-the-art fishing and processing vessel — they turned to us for help with the coatings. This was the very first vessel of its kind built in Louisiana, and we were excited to play a key part.

Our coatings division jumped right in, handling everything from abrasive blasting to painting both the inside and outside of the ship. We used a full International Paints marine-grade coating system to give every surface lasting protection and a top-quality finish.

The scale and complexity made this a challenging four-year journey. We worked through unpredictable weather, including hurricanes, and coordinated with several other trades, all operating within a busy shipyard. Careful planning and daily check-ins with the shipyard team helped us stay on track.

We made safety a priority, setting up extensive scaffolding and making sure everyone followed strict fall protection. Even after hurricanes forced us to adjust our plans, we kept things moving. We also put strong environmental controls in place, meeting all EPA and Louisiana DEQ requirements.

In the end, we finished the Arctic Trawler with a top-tier coating that will protect it for years to come. The client was genuinely pleased with our consistent work and professional approach throughout the build, and for us, this project is proof of what our team can accomplish on even the most demanding marine jobs.
