Miami-Dade Fire & Rescue
Our Work Speaks for Itself
When Miami-Dade Fire & Rescue needed a coatings partner for their new 50-foot aluminum emergency response boats, they selected The Foust Group. Our team performed complete abrasive blasting and painting on the exterior hulls, applying a high-performance marine coating system to protect these critical first-responder vessels. We managed the entire process within a controlled, contained environment, ensuring full environmental compliance while delivering a durable, uniform finish designed to withstand extreme maritime conditions.
This project evolved into a multi-phase effort. After we completed the initial work, the client reported blistering on the hull. We immediately sent personnel to Miami to investigate and discovered the issue was electrolysis — a stray electrical current in the aluminum hull — not a coating failure. Despite the issue being unrelated to our workmanship, the client contracted us again to blast and repaint the vessels. When the boats later returned for additional electrolysis-related repairs, we performed the necessary touch-up work, completing a third phase of the project.
Our handling of the Miami-Dade Fire & Rescue project showcases our integrity and accountability. Even when faced with a challenge outside our scope, we stood behind our partnership, provided reliable solutions, and ensured the client was satisfied. The client, along with the boat builder, Metal Shark, expressed full satisfaction with our responsiveness and professionalism.
