For more than 16 years, The Foust Group has proudly served as the dedicated on-site coatings contractor for Florida Marine Transportation (FMT), a leader in the Gulf Coast’s inland marine industry. At the FMT Shipyard in Louisiana, our team provides comprehensive blasting and painting services for both tugboats and barges. We manage every aspect of the process, from surface preparation and coatings application to quality assurance, supporting both FMT’s internal fleet and their external client projects.
Our scope of work is precise and adheres to strict industry specifications. We perform abrasive blasting to various SSPC standards, including SP-10 Near White Metal Blast and SP-6 Commercial Blast, depending on the vessel’s needs. Following preparation, we apply multi-coat marine systems to protect the vessel from keel to caprail.
We handle all environmental containment and safety protocols throughout the project, ensuring compliance with EPA and shipyard regulations. Before any vessel is released, certified paint representatives conduct third-party inspections, verifying the quality and integrity of our work.
