Blasting & Coating of Crane Boom Sections
We Can Restore the Integrity and Appearance of Your Equipment
The Foust Group completed a specialized blasting and coating project for Loadmaster, focusing on multiple sections of an Enterprise lattice crane boom. The project required precision handling and a multi-phase approach to restore the equipment. Our team began with a full abrasive blast of four separate boom sections, including the tip and heel assemblies. This initial step prepared the surfaces for a thorough structural inspection by the client.
Following the inspection, Loadmaster transported the sections for necessary repairs. Once the repairs were complete, the components returned to our yard for final surface preparation and coating. We performed a Sweep Blast (SSPC-SP7) to create the ideal profile for coating adhesion. Afterward, we applied a durable, three-coat system using several different topcoat colors to meet the client’s detailed finishing requirements.
We successfully completed all work on schedule and within the original budget, delivering the fully restored crane boom sections ready for service. The project followed SSPC / AMP standards and was finished without any incidents or rework, showcasing our commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety in specialized yard operations.
