Our team recently supported their modernization initiative through two key projects: the No. 5 Dryer Foundation and the LUC Concrete Construction / Log Deck Expansion. We managed all excavation, foundation, and concrete work, supplying the supervision, labor, and quality control to ensure these critical infrastructure upgrades met Boise Cascade’s QA/QC and high standards for efficiency and safety.

For the No. 5 Dryer Foundation, our team demolished the existing structure and built a new reinforced concrete foundation to support a modern veneer dryer. We also excavated trenches for high-voltage electrical conduits. The project faced frequent rain and cold weather, leading to poor soil conditions. To keep the project on schedule, we substituted rock for dirt fill to maintain proper compaction. Despite a tight timeline and coordinating with multiple trades, we completed the project on time and within budget, earning praise from the client for our quality and site management.

The Log Deck Expansion involved installing major concrete foundations for a new wet log deck and crane system, as well as elevated slabs for a new electrical control building. Our crews worked through extreme summer heat alongside other contractors, requiring careful coordination to maintain safety and efficiency. We performed much of the work pre-outage and completed the remainder ahead of schedule during the plant shutdown. Boise Cascade was highly satisfied with our responsiveness and consistent delivery, and we remain a preferred contractor for their major civil projects.
